This is a 6hp Mercury short shaft outboard. This 6hp Mercury is a 2-stroke, manual start, tiller style, short shaft outboard motor. This 6 hp Mercury has the gear shifter built into the tiller handle twist grip.This motor weighs 75lbs. We have tested this motor and it runs strong. It pumps water, shifts into gear, accelerates, idles, and starts great. These 6 hp Mercury outboards use the same block as the 8-15hp motors. They are overbuilt for the hp they put out which means that they tend to hold up mechanically.
