This is a very rare and dersirable engine. This is a 40 hp 2-stroke short shaft Mariner outboard. This engine was made by Mercury Marine. It has a tiller handle along with both manual and electric start. Compression is perfect and the engine runs 100%. We have fully boat tested this motor. The weight of this 40 hp Mariner is only 177lbs so it will work with almost any boat that can handle a 25hp. This engine has 4 cylinders so it is exceptionally smooth and balanced. We have fully boat tested this motor on June 21st, 2023. This would be the ideal outboard for a Boston Whaler, Avon/Zodiac inflatable, Carolina Skiff J-16, large jon boat or any small boat that can take a 40 hp 2-stroke short shaft 15"
